Mark Schettenhelm It all comes together into something that is magical. Fortunately it has been captured for us to enjoy again and again. A series of known standards like "The Nearness Of You", "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" and "I'm In The Mood For Love" done with purity to make you listen and appreciate why they are standards. For me the biggest revelation was Quando Quando Quando, a song I never really liked, but here, I was able to see what a great song it really is. That's the power of this album. Favorite track: Quando Quando Quando.

- - - - - There oughta be a moonlight saving time, So I could love that boy o' mine 'til the birdies wake and chime 'good morning'! There oughta be a law in clover time To keep that moon out overtime, To keep each lover's lane in line till dawning You'd better hutry up, hurry up Hurry up, get busy today! You'd better croon a tune, to the man up in the Moon And here's what I'd say There oughta be a moonlight saving time So I could love that boy of mine Until the birdies wake and chime 'good morning' - - - - -

- - - - - Ain't doin' bad doin' nothin', Just sittin' round all day. I'm tellin' you the less I do, The more things come my way! When I get up in the mornin', Thinkin' of the day ahead Makes me so downright weary, I go on right back to bed! Why should I ever worry? It's such a losin' game! Why should I move, when I can prove I get there just the same? Ain't doin' bad doin' nothin', Somehow it seems to pay! Ain't doin' bad doin' nothin', Just sittin' round all day. - - - - -

Frenesi 03:42
- - - - - Long, long ago, I wandered down into old Mexico There at a dance, I met first new romance! Moon was shining bright, And I could hear laughing voices in the night! Everyone was gay, it was the start of a holiday! It was fiesta down in Mexico, And so I stopped a while to see the show! I knew that frenesi meant "Please love me" And I could say frenesi! A handsome caballero caught my eye I stood enchanted as he wandered by And never knowing that it come from me I gently sighed frenesi He stopped and raised his eyes to mine His lips just pleaded to be kissed His eyes were soft as candle-shine So how was I to resist? And now without a heart to call my own A greater happiness I've never known Because his kisses are for me alone Who wouldn't say frenesi? - - - - -

It's not the pale moon that excites me That thrills and delights me, oh no It's just the nearness of yo It isn't your sweet conversation That brings this sensation, oh no It's just the nearness of you When you're in my arms, and I feel you so close to me All my wildest dreams came true I need no soft lights to enchant me If you'll only grant me, the right To hold you ever so tight And to feel in the night, the nearness of you
5.
Tell me when will you be mine? Tell me quando, quando, quando. We can share a love divine, Oh my darling tell me when. When will you say yes to me? Tell me quando, quando, quando. You mean happiness to me Please don't make me wait again. Every moment's a day Every day seems a lifetime! Let me show you the way, To a joy beyond compare! I can't wait a moment more Tell me quando, quando, quando Say its me that you adore And then darling tell me when!

- - - - - - - There'll be a change in the weather There's a change in the sea.. From now on there'll be in change in me! My walk will be different, my talk, and my name. Nothin' about me is going to be the same! I'm goin' to change my way of livin', If that ain't enough! I'm gonna change the way I strut my stuff! 'Cause nobody wants you when you're old and gray.. There'll be some changes made today! There'll be some changes made! - - - - - - -

- - - - - I left my heart in San Francisco High on a hill, it calls to me. To be where little cable cars, climb halfway to the stars! The morning fog may chill the air, I don't care. My love waits there, in San Francisco, Above the blue and windy sea. When I come home to you, San Francisco Your golden sun will shine for me. - - - - -
8.
- - - - - Waitin' for the train to come in, Waitin' for my man to come home. I've counted every minute of each live-long day Been so melancholy since he went away! I've shed a million teardrops or more, Waitin' for the one I adore. I'm waitin' in the depot by the railroad track Lookin' for the choo-choo train that brings him back! I'm waitin' for my life to begin... Waitin' for the train to come in. - - - - -
9.
- - - - - I get no kick from champagne Mere alcohol doesn't thrill me at all So tell me why should it be true? That I get a kick out of you! Some get their kicks from cocaine.. I'm sure that if I took even one sniff, That would bore me terrifically too! But I get a kick out of you! I get a kick every time I see you, standing there before me. I get a kick, though it's clear to me, you obviously do not adore me. I get no kick in a plane. Flying so high with some guy in the sky, Is my idea of nothing to do! But I get a kick out of you! - - - - -

- - - - - I'm in the mood for love Simply because you're near me. Funny, but when you're near me I'm in the mood for love. Heaven is in your eyes Bright as the stars we're under Oh! Is it any wonder I'm in the mood for love? Why stop to think of whether This little dream might fade? We've put our hearts together Now we are one, I'm not afraid! If there's a cloud above If it should rain we'll let it But for tonight, forget it! I'm in the mood for love - - - - -

about

Sweet vintage vocals, and a sunny, tuneful string combo - This album tips it's cap to the jazz duo's of the past such as Les Paul & Mary Ford and Dave Barbour & Peggy Lee. Songs from the Great American Songbook alongside South of the Border favourites.

Named after a street in St Kilda, Victoria, Australia where Hetty Kate and Sam Lemann's friendship blossomed over long brunches and champagne. This is the first album Hetty Kate appears on, and was recorded at the very beginning of her career, it is also the debut release from "The Irwell Street String Band", which toured around Australia for over four years.

With all members of this sparkling group living in different cities, they rarely get the opportunity to perform together! However on occasion, when the stars align and the moon turns green, you can see them appear in Melbourne, Australia at The Paris Cat where they launched this album in 2010.
